Text Box: There is very little information at this point.  We are looking at an 85 acre site that lies in the extreme northeast corner of Camden County.  In fact, 200’ to the north is Miller County and a few hundred feet to the east is Pulaski County.  It is off of U Highway and is presently a rock quarry.

So far, the preliminary investigation has been positive but no drilling has been accomplished to date.  Drilling will provide valuable information about the quality of soil and rock, the location of groundwater, and other important features that will help protect the water table.

I wonder if the watershed group would be active in such a project by promoting recycling of household garbage to reduce the overall need for landfills?  Our group has discussed the possibility of partnering with someone to set up recycling but we have not had time to explore the possibilities.

In short, we want to be responsible to the environment and provide a near-by alternative to garbage disposal instead of seeing all of it hauled to Sedalia or Hartville
